Salesforce OAuth Connection Error: Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps

If you're seeing an OAuth error when trying to connect Salesforce to Mixmax, don’t worry — this guide will help you fix it quickly.

Updated this week

Why this happens

Salesforce recently introduced a new permission called “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps.”

If your Salesforce org doesn’t have the Mixmax Connected App installed — or your profile doesn’t include this permission — Salesforce will block the connection between Mixmax and Salesforce.

How to fix it

You can resolve this issue in one of two ways, depending on your Salesforce setup.

Option 1: Have your Salesforce Admin install the Mixmax app

If Mixmax isn’t already installed in your Salesforce org:

  1. Ask your Salesforce Admin to follow the steps in our guide: Enable Salesforce to use the Mixmax app

  2. After installation, confirm that the Mixmax app appears under Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  3. Retry connecting Mixmax — it should now work!

Option 2: Ask your Admin to grant you the missing permission

If Mixmax is already installed but you’re still seeing the error:

  1. Ask your Salesforce Admin to open your Profile or Permission Set in Salesforce.

  2. Under System Permissions, enable Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps.

  3. Retry connecting Mixmax — the connection should now succeed.
