When a Mixmax user receives a cold outbound email, the Cold Email Shield automatically detects the email as cold outreach. Mixmax Cold Email Shield is a feature that helps users filter and manage unsolicited or cold outreach emails. It ensures that such emails are intercepted and organized into the "cold emails" label within the user’s mailbox, reducing potential distractions and enhancing inbox organization.
The cold outbound email can then be removed from the user's inbox and labeled under Mixmax: Marketing > Cold emails. This ensures that the emails do not clutter the main inbox but remain accessible if the user wishes to review them later.
Our detection can take a minute or two to run, and if we find that the message is in the trash, we just skip it.
An email notification will alert the Mixmax user that the cold outbound email has been filtered.
Additionally, Mixmax ensures transparency by sending the sender an automated notification about the classification. The sender also receives a courteous auto-reply from Mixmax indicating that their email was filtered. Senders will get system-generated notifications that appear to come from your email address and are signed by the Mixmax team. These are automated messages clarifying their email status and should not be mistaken for manual responses or unauthorized emails.
If you've never used Mixmax but received a notification reply, it indicates that the recipient of your email has Mixmax Cold Email Shield enabled. The notification is an automatic response from Mixmax, not a manual reply from the recipient.
