Creating a Rule with a Salesforce Opportunity Owner

This article explains how you can create a Mixmax Rule using your Salesforce User ID to determine the Opportunity Owner.

Updated over a week ago

Salesforce integration is available on the Mixmax Growth + Salesforce plan and above. Advanced Rules are available on the Enterprise plan only. Check out our pricing page for more information.

Suppose you are trying to create a Mixmax Rule so that an action occurs when a Salesforce Opportunity is created if you are the Opportunity Owner. Salesforce does not index the Opportunity Owner by name; instead, it uses the Salesforce User ID. To set up this rule, you'll need to find your Salesforce User ID. Here's how:

Salesforce Lightning

Go to Settings, choose My Personal Information, and then Advanced User Details. Take a look at the URL bar, and copy the 15 alphanumeric characters beginning with 005. This is your Salesforce User ID.

Go to My Settings, choose Personal, and then Advanced User Details. Take a look at the URL bar, and copy the 15 alphanumeric characters beginning with 005. This is your Salesforce User ID.

Creating your rule

Once you have your Salesforce User ID, go to the Rules section of the Mixmax web app. Under If, click Add condition, and then, in the dropdown, select Field, then select the field Opportunity Owner. Choose contains, and then paste the User ID into the box. See the screenshot below.

Click Continue and add the action that should be triggered by the rule. Save the changes, and it's done!
