Unable to sync some of your tasks to Salesforce
Unable to sync some of your tasks to Salesforce

This article describes what you can do if your Sequence tasks are not synced to Salesforce correctly.

Updated over a week ago

Sequences are available on the Mixmax Small Business plan and above. Salesforce integration is available on the Growth + Salesforce plan and above. Check out our pricing page for more information.

When using tasks in sequences, you might see a message saying, 'We were not able to sync some of your tasks to Salesforce.'

This can occur for two reasons, each of which has its own solution:

  • Your Salesforce user permissions do not allow you to edit the specific account, contact, lead, or opportunity related to the task. Salesforce roles and permissions can limit some users' access to certain data. Your Salesforce administrator may have limited access to certain records, so please check with them to see if you have the appropriate permissions.

  • Your Salesforce instance may have a Tasks field which is required that Mixmax is not configured to use, especially if your Salesforce field configuration has recently changed. To update Mixmax with your current Salesforce field configuration, see step 5 of our document Troubleshoot your Salesforce connection.

Once corrected, you will need to add the recipient to the sequence again. If this error occurred in the first stage of the sequence, you can simply add the recipient again. You will need to make sure that your sequence allows you to add recipients multiple times. To do this, from the Sequences page of the Mixmax Dashboard:

  1. Select the sequence you would like to change.

  2. Go to the Settings tab.

  3. Click the Recipients section on the left.

  4. Uncheck Automatically remove recipients who have already received this sequence:

If this error occurs in a stage after the first, re-adding the recipients will cause them to go through all sequence stages. To avoid this, see our instructions for Adding Recipients Mid-Sequence.
