👉 How to configure the Mixmax Call Disposition field

Step 2: Add a Validation Rule in Salesforce

Once the field is ready, you can add a Validation Rule on the Task object in Salesforce to make the Call Disposition mandatory.

  1. In Salesforce, go to Setup.

  2. Navigate to Object Manager > Task.

  3. Select Validation Rules and click New.

  4. Enter a Rule Name (for example: Require_Call_Disposition).

  5. In the Error Condition Formula box, use the following code:

  6. Add an Error Message to explain what the user needs to do (i.e., "Call Disposition Required)

  7. Choose where the message should appear (Field or Top of Page).

  8. Save the rule.

Note: You may need to contact your Salesforce administrator to assist with configuring the validation rule.

What Users Will See

When a user places a call using the Mixmax Dialer but does not select a call disposition before logging the call to Salesforce, they’ll see an error message prompting them to complete the field before proceeding.

✅ That’s it! You’ve now ensured every logged call in Salesforce has a disposition attached.
