Update the status of a Lead in Salesforce when they're placed in a Mixmax Sequence

On the Enterprise plan, with Salesforce connected, you can use Mixmax Rules to build an automation that will update the Lead or Contact when an email bounces.

Requirements:

  1. Mixmax Salesforce Rules are only available on the Enterprise plan. Please Contact our Sales team to upgrade or request a demo.
  2. Connect directly to Salesforce from your Mixmax Account.

Creating your Rule

  • For individuals, head over to the Rules section on your account, and click on New Rule
  • If you're an admin, and you would like to build this workflow for your entire team, head over to the Rules page in the Admin section, and click on New Rule.

Next, give your rule a title.

Each Mixmax Rule has 3 steps: Trigger, Filter, and Action.

Trigger

For the trigger, select Sequence.

Then, select New recipient is added, and click on Continue

Filter

Here, you can specify the Sequence(s) you'd want this automation to apply to.

First, click on Add Condition.

Next to "Recipient email", click on the dropdown to select Sequence is from the menu.

Next, select the desired Sequence from the drop-down list.

If you wish to select multiple Sequences to filter this automation on, change the filter logic to "If ANY of the following are true"

Then repeat the process above by clicking on Add condition for each Sequence you wish to select.

Action

For your action, select Salesforce from the options.

On the next window, select Update the related Lead and click on Continue.

Next, search and select the Status field, then click on Add field.

Next, in the drop-down list under Status, select the appropriate status to update the field to, and click on Activate & Close.

To update a Contact record from the same rule, click on Add action, then follow the same steps as above after clicking on Update the related Contact.
