Attio integration

Overview of Attio's Mixmax integration: enroll contacts into Mixmax sequences from Attio workflows, with FAQs on email tracking and setup.

The Attio integration is built and maintained by Attio. You set it up and use it inside Attio, not in Mixmax. For the latest details, see Attio's Mixmax app documentation.

Attio is a CRM that offers a Mixmax app for its Workflows feature. Once connected, Attio can automatically enroll contacts into your Mixmax sequences when things happen in your Attio workspace — for example, when a deal moves to a new pipeline stage or a contact is updated. Data flows from Attio to Mixmax: Attio decides who to enroll, and Mixmax sends the sequence.

What the integration does

Attio's Mixmax app adds one workflow block, Add email to sequence. When your Attio workflow reaches this block, the contact is enrolled into the Mixmax sequence you selected, using data from Attio (the recipient email and any sequence variables you map in the block).

Before using the block, you need an existing Mixmax sequence with a connected mailbox. The sequence emails are then sent, scheduled, and tracked by Mixmax like any other sequence.

How to set it up

1. In Mixmax, go to Settings > Integrations and click Create Mixmax API Token to generate an API key. See Mixmax REST API for details — API access is available on all Mixmax plans except the Free plan.

2. In Attio, click your workspace name and select Workspace settings, go to Apps, search for Mixmax, click Install, and enter your API key.

3. The Add email to sequence block is now available in Attio Workflows.

Mixmax authentication in Attio works per user, not per workspace. Once you connect your Mixmax account, members of your Attio workspace can use workflows that enroll contacts into your Mixmax sequences. Attio's newer workflows ask each member to connect individually; legacy workflows share a single connection.

FAQ

Can I track emails I send from Attio in Mixmax?

No. Mixmax only tracks emails sent through Mixmax — Gmail with the Mixmax extension, the Outlook add-in, or the Mixmax web app. Emails sent from Attio's own email feature never pass through Mixmax and are not tracked.

However, emails sent by a Mixmax sequence — including sequences that Attio workflows enroll contacts into — are sent by Mixmax and tracked as usual: opens, clicks, and downloads appear in your Live Feed and reports. If you want tracked outreach from your Attio pipeline, use the integration to enroll contacts into a Mixmax sequence rather than emailing from Attio directly. See our Tracking overview for how tracking works.

What plan do I need?

On the Mixmax side, you need a plan that includes REST API access — any Mixmax plan except Free. For Attio-side requirements, check Attio's documentation.

Who do I contact if something isn't working?

If the workflow block in Attio isn't enrolling contacts, start with Attio's documentation and Attio support, since they maintain the integration. If contacts are enrolled but the sequence isn't sending as expected in Mixmax, contact our support team.
