Scheduling an email to Send Later

This article explains how to schedule an email to be sent later and edit scheduled messages.

Mixmax enables you to schedule an email to be sent later.

How to schedule an email to Send Later

For Gmail

In the bottom bar of the compose window, click Send Later. You can choose from a preset time (e.g., In 1 hour) or enter a specific time. Send Later has natural language processing, so you can type almost anything in that box.

For Outlook

Once your message is composed and ready to be scheduled, click the Smart Send button within the Mixmax add-in. The drop-down menu presents you with different Smart Send options.

Select Use Send Later presets to choose from a preset time (e.g., In 1 hour), or click Set a custom time to enter a specific time. Clicking Schedule Email prompts you with a confirmation pop-up, where you can choose to Cancel or hit Done when you're happy with the scheduled time.

You can customize the options in your Send Later menu. Go to the Reminders & Send Later area in your Settings. Customize your preset times for sending emails.

Where to find your scheduled emails

To see and edit the emails you've scheduled to send later, hover over the M in the top right corner of Gmail and click Outbox (shown below), or you can go directly to the Outbox in your Mixmax dashboard.

In the Outbox, click Send Laters in the left column to see only your scheduled emails.

Click the checkbox to the left of a scheduled email, and Mixmax will give you the option to Reschedule or Stop the email, which moves it to your Drafts folder.

How to edit your scheduled emails?

For Gmail

If you wish to edit the email scheduled to be sent later, click Edit next to the email. You will be prompted to confirm you wish to open the message as a draft in Gmail. Once you click Open Drafts, a new tab will open with your Gmail Drafts, and you will be able to edit the message draft. Click Send Later to schedule sending the email again when you are done with editing.

For Outlook

Heading to your Drafts folder in Outlook and opening your scheduled email will allow you to edit the message draft. Within the Mixmax add-in, you will also find when the email draft is scheduled to be sent, along with the buttons to open the Outbox in the Mixmax dashboard or delete the schedule.
