Once you have created your sequence and configured the stages and settings you want, you can start adding people to the sequence. People you add to the sequence will become the recipients of email messages and tasks you set up in the stages of the sequence. Once you have added people to the sequence, you can also personalize each sequence for each recipient to help boost engagement.

There are many different ways to add recipients to a sequence, and this article will give you a high-level overview of the various options.

You can add people into a sequence from the following places:

Using the Mixmax web app, both Gmail and Outlook users can add individuals or a bunch of people into a sequence. You can upload a CSV list of users, add individuals manually, or select users from a Salesforce Contact/Lead list.

To start adding people to the sequence, click Actions > Add Recipients or the Add Recipients button, upload the recipients, and then click Activate Recipients to enroll the recipients into the sequence.

To customize the content for each recipient for optimal engagement or review the automated emails you will send, you can click Review and Personalize. For more details, check out how to personalize a sequence for any recipient.

You can add a specific individual into a sequence directly from the Gmail compose window.

When composing a new email, add a recipient into the To field, select a sequence from the Sequences tab in the compose window, enter the variable values (if variables are used in the sequence) for the recipient, and then click Send.

Thanks to Mixmax integration with Salesforce, you can also add a list of people from Salesforce into a sequence.

In the Contacts or Leads tab in Salesforce, check the boxes next to the contacts/leads you want to add and click Add to Mixmax Sequence. You will be prompted to select the sequence and then redirected to the Mixmax web app to complete adding recipients. That's it!

Setting up a Mixmax rule allows you to automatically enroll people into a sequence when a specific condition is met. For example, you can automatically add recipients to a sequence when they send you an email with specific keywords in it.
